Jurassic World | Movie Review

Jurassic World | Movie Review

Yes that is an attempt at a very dramatic start to this blog, but I think this movie definitely deserves it! ALL THE FEELS!

So I managed to get out and see Jurassic World last month and I was meant to put up a review at the time but you know how life can be! I’ll try not and spoil anything but I’m hoping that most people at this point have seen it, and if not that this review may convince you to go see it!

I had never fully watched any of the Jurassic Park movies until two days before I went to see the new one. I know I know hit me if you wish! The first Jurassic Park played on daytime television a couple of days before and I was hooked immediately! I don’t know why I waited so long. After watching the original I was even more excited for Jurassic World and in my eyes it definitely didn’t disappoint.

It may have been a bit unrealistic/far-fetched at times and a bit slow to start, but to see the dinosaurs and the amount of detail and how realistic they seemed and how the story played out, all of this was pushed to the side.

“Located off the coast of Costa Rica, the Jurassic World luxury resort provides a habitat for an array of genetically engineered dinosaurs, including the vicious and intelligent Indominus rex. When the massive creature escapes, it sets off a chain reaction that causes the other dinos to run amok. Now, it’s up to a former military man and animal expert (Chris Pratt) to use his special skills to save two young brothers and the rest of the tourists from an all-out, prehistoric assault.”

Chris Pratt once again was the highlight of this movie, and I loved his character and role. Bryce Dallas Howard also gets props for running in heels the whole movie and her role toward the end with a certain dino!

There’s many different moments throughout the movie, from ones that make you jump, ones that make you laugh and even some that tug on the old heart string (Yes I cried….twice). Then there’s those points when you are like:

” Oh Crap!!!! “

It is so hard not to mention certain scenes in this as I really don’t want to spoil it for others so I’ll make a list of words and hopefully you’ll understand what I mean after seeing the movie:

The Final Battle
We Need More Teeth
That Flare
The Ending
Killing For Sport
Can We Stay with you? No not you! Him
She Ate Her

I absolutely loved this movie, it made me want a dinosaur, work in the park, change my career path to palaeontology and it just made me feel all these awesome emotions throughout. The movie itself was stunning though I was dissapointed by the 3D aspect of it as it didn’t feel any different than watching in 2D , par one part that made me feel a little car-sick.

I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on the movie, but I think for this age and this audience as well as the advances in CGI and animation that it works really well and I really really loved it.
